what is the easiest way to find a basic rafter length

Answers:

From: Chef

mark your ridge board 2'oc then put in place. measure from top edge of ridge board to the outside edge of your top plate. this gives the saw man the mark for the notch from this measurement the eave depth needs to be added or leave them long then snap a line for your eave depth when they are all up. i prefer the latter for a straight drip edge but u do have to mark plumb lines and cut the rafter tails ona ladder or scaffold
